The PRIMA antibacterial and antiviral HME filter, in a sterile single-use version for respiratory circuits and anesthesia systems, incorporates an electrostatic filtration system with a hydrophobic polypropylene membrane and a heat and moisture exchange (HME) element. The device is equipped with ISO standard connectors and technical characteristics specifically designed for use in respiratory system applications.

The PRIMA antibacterial and antiviral HME filter is intended for use in respiratory circuits, mechanical ventilation systems, and anesthesia equipment. The product is sterilized using ethylene oxide (EO) and is designed for single use, with a maximum recommended operating time of up to 24 hours.

The filtration media uses electrostatic filtration technology and includes a hydrophobic polypropylene membrane. The HME element responsible for heat and moisture exchange is made of polyurethane foam, while the housing is manufactured from polypropylene. The filter has a filtration area of 19.6 cm² and is designed to retain particles with a minimum size of 0.5 µm.

The bacterial filtration efficiency is 99.9999%, and the viral filtration efficiency is 99.9999%. Filtration performance has been independently validated, including effectiveness against coronaviruses, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and hepatitis C virus.
