The Sterile Calcium Alginate Silver Dressing 5 x 5 cm is a single-use medical dressing intended for external use. It is manufactured from a non-woven material containing calcium alginate, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and ionic silver complexes in the form of silver carbonate. When in contact with wound exudate, the dressing absorbs fluid and forms a gel that helps maintain a moist wound environment.

The dressing contains a high concentration of mannuronic acid and releases silver ions upon contact with wound exudate. It is supplied sterile and may remain in place for up to 7 days, depending on the wound condition, the amount of exudate, and medical assessment. The dressing is designed for use with a non-occlusive secondary dressing and is intended for external use only.

Instructions for Use:
• Clean the wound and irrigate if required according to standard protocols
• Select a dressing slightly larger than the wound area
• Apply the dressing directly to the wound bed and secure it with a non-occlusive secondary dressing
• Replace the dressing according to the amount of exudate and clinical evaluation
• If the wound appears dry, moisten the dressing with saline before removal
• Do not reuse the dressing, and do not use it if the package is damaged
