The PRIMA Burdizzo Clamp, 47 cm, is a professional instrument made of high-quality stainless steel, designed for performing bloodless castration procedures in animals. The bloodless castration technique using the Burdizzo clamp is applied when the spermatic cord can be palpated, typically in animals at least one month old. The clamp does not cut the scrotum, eliminating the risk of heavy bleeding. The instrument is easy to handle and should be kept slightly open when not in use. The 47 cm model is suitable for use in animal farms and households, providing safe and efficient handling for large and very large animals. Instructions for use: 1. Select and use the forceps appropriate for the animal’s size. 2. Locate the spermatic cord on one side of the scrotum. 3. Grasp the scrotum above the testicles. 4. Position the clamp correctly for crushing. 5. Insert only the part of the scrotum containing the spermatic cord between the jaws of the clamp. Do not crush more of the scrotum than necessary. The jaws should be placed 1–1.5 cm above the testicle, in the upper part. 6. Close the clamp, count 10 seconds, and check that the spermatic cord is properly caught. 7. Release the clamp, move it 1 cm below the first spot, and repeat steps 4 and 5. 8. Repeat the procedure on the opposite side. Press the pinched areas on the left and right sides of the scrotum. The crushed lines must not overlap the scrotal midline. 9. Check the animal after 4 and 6 weeks to ensure that the testicles have reduced in size. Testicles may swell initially and then shrink. Safety instructions: • Do not press both testicles simultaneously, as the procedure will not be effective and the clamp may be damaged.
