The PRIMA Burdizzo Clamp, 22 cm, is a professional stainless steel instrument designed for bloodless castration procedures in animals. Manufactured from high-quality stainless steel, this clamp ensures excellent corrosion resistance, long-term durability, and easy maintenance during frequent use. The bloodless castration technique using the Burdizzo clamp is recommended when the spermatic cord can be palpated, typically in animals aged one month or older. Since no incision is required, castration is performed without bleeding and with a lower risk of infection compared to traditional methods. The clamp does not cut the scrotum, eliminates the risk of heavy bleeding, and offers ease of handling, making it suitable for use in farms and household environments. When not in use, the clamp should be kept slightly open. Instructions for use: 1. Select the clamp size suitable for the animal. 2. Locate the spermatic cord on one side of the scrotum. 3. Grasp the scrotum above the testicles and position the clamp correctly for crushing. 4. Insert only the part of the scrotum containing the spermatic cord between the jaws, avoiding excessive crushing. 5. Place the jaws approximately 1–1.5 cm above the testicle, at the upper part. 6. Close the clamp, maintain pressure for 10 seconds, and verify that the spermatic cord is properly caught. 7. Release the clamp, move it 1 cm below the previous position, and repeat the process. 8. Repeat on the opposite side, ensuring the crushed lines do not overlap the scrotal midline. 9. Check the animal after 4–6 weeks to confirm that the testicles have reduced in size (they may initially swell before shrinking). Safety instructions: • Do not press both testicles simultaneously, as this will render the procedure ineffective and may damage the clamp.
