InFibra Polyethylene Reinforcement Ribbon for Dental Use, 50 cm, Flexible, Biocompatible, Metal-Free
InFibra is a flexible dental reinforcement ribbon made of high molecular weight polyethylene fiber (UHMWPE), designed for use in metal-free restorative and prosthetic dentistry. The material offers a combination of high tensile strength, controlled elasticity, and low density, ensuring mechanical stability and long-term performance in a wide range of dental applications.
Each fiber strand is continuous, white, and crystallized over 90%, providing an elasticity modulus of 95 GPa, tensile strength of 3.0 GPa, and specific gravity of 0.97 g/cm³. The result is a dimensionally stable and lightweight material with a strength approximately 15 times greater than that of steel, maintaining flexibility and ease of adaptation.
Available in different heights (1 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, 4 mm, and 25 mm) with a standard length of 50 cm, each version is suited for specific dental uses:
• 1 mm tubular - for mobile denture repair;
• 1-2 mm - for orthodontic retention and intercoronal splinting;
• 3 mm - for periodontal splinting and bridge reinforcement;
• 4 mm - for temporary bridge construction;
• 25 mm - for fixed or removable prosthetic structures and large reconstructions.
Technical Characteristics:
• Water absorption below 0.9%
• Elongation: 2.4%
• Melting temperature: 145°C
• Dimensionally stable and biocompatible
• Radiopaque
• High resistance to stress and abrasion
• Compatible with resin composites and acrylic resins
• Smooth, flexible, and non-memory structure
The patented weave of InFibra optimizes the penetration of resin composites, creating a reinforced bond that prevents the propagation of microfractures and enhances the overall durability of the restoration. Its white, translucent appearance allows for a natural aesthetic integration within the dental structure.
Main Applications:
• Construction of provisional and permanent dental bridges
• Orthodontic reconstruction and space maintenance
• Periodontal splinting (direct and indirect techniques)
• Reinforcement and repair of acrylic dentures
• Bars on implants and “All-on-4” structures
• Reinforcement of composite or resin-based prosthetic frameworks
InFibra is designed for use with both unfilled bonding agents and dual-cure resin composites, adaptable to direct or indirect fabrication techniques. The ribbon conforms easily to dental surfaces, can be positioned with tweezers or manually, and becomes fully integrated after polymerization, ensuring smooth and durable restorations.
Combining high mechanical strength, controlled flexibility, and excellent biological compatibility, the InFibra polyethylene reinforcement ribbon represents a reliable, metal-free reinforcement material for a wide variety of modern dental and prosthetic applications.
