Description
The 250ml blood collection bag is a sterile, single-use medical device equipped with a 16G needle and CPDA-1 (Citrate Phosphate Dextrose Adenine) anticoagulant solution. It is designed for the collection, preservation, and handling of human blood under controlled, sterile conditions, suitable for use in medical facilities, blood donation centers, and certified laboratories.
The CPDA-1 solution in the bag serves as both anticoagulant and preservative, preventing blood coagulation and maintaining cell viability. The CPDA-1 composition is as follows:
• Citric acid – 0.299 g;
• Sodium citrate – 2.63 g;
• Monobasic sodium phosphate – 0.222 g;
• Dextrose – 3.19 g;
• Adenine – 0.0275 g;
• Water for injection – up to 100 ml.
Adenine helps maintain high ATP levels in red blood cells, ensuring stability and optimal pH regulation. CPDA-1 is safe, well-tolerated, and preserves blood for up to 35 days under proper refrigerated conditions.
Instructions for Use:
Blood Collection:
1. General preparation before collection:
• Confirm that the bag size and capacity are appropriate for the intended collection volume, as indicated on the main label.
• Open the aluminum pouch at the tear notches and remove one unit.
• Inspect the bag, tubing, and needle for visible defects.
• Place the bag on a blood mixer or collection system below the donor’s arm level.
• Apply the tourniquet or inflate the pressure cuff and disinfect the venipuncture site.
2. Collection without a pre-sampling device:
• Clamp the donor tubing with a hemostatic clamp.
• Remove the needle cap carefully to avoid damage to the needle tip.
• Insert the needle into the vein with the bevel facing upward.
• Release the clamp to allow blood flow.
• Maintain regular mixing to ensure the blood blends with the CPDA-1 solution.
• Once the desired volume is collected, close the tubing near the needle to stop blood flow.
• Remove the needle, drain residual blood into the bag, and seal the tubing segments.
Note: Begin sealing from the needle end toward the collection bag.
