Description
Medical soda lime is a carbon dioxide absorbent designed for use in anesthesia breathing systems and medical respiratory circuits. Supplied in a 5-liter canister, this product is suitable for hospital environments and is compatible with commonly used anesthesia equipment, including systems from Drager and GE.

CO2 absorption occurs through an exothermic chemical reaction between carbon dioxide and the hydroxides contained in the absorbent, producing carbonates and water. The absorption efficiency depends on controlled moisture content, maintained within defined manufacturing limits. A color change indicator provides visual reference of usage by changing uniformly from white to violet during operation.

Technical specifications:
• pellet shape: regular granules;
• pellet diameter: 3 mm;
• high mechanical stability;
• hardness: 92–95%, minimizing dust formation;
• efficient CO2 conductivity;
• composition:
• calcium hydroxide 97% (EC 215-137-3);
• sodium hydroxide 3% (EC 215-185-5);
• ethyl violet color indicator 0.03% (EC 219-231-5);
• moisture content: 13–17%;
• moisture absorption capacity: 3.2–3.4%.

The absorbent should be filled into the canister in two or three stages with gentle compaction, up to the indicated fill line or approximately 5 mm below the top edge. After opening, unused material must be stored in a sealed container and used within one month. Once loaded into the absorber, the material must be discarded after one month regardless of usage level. Color regeneration between uses may occur but does not indicate restored absorption capacity.

The product must be stored in cool, dry conditions, protected from moisture and direct sunlight, within a temperature range of -20 to +50°C and a maximum humidity of 70%.
